

In-Person Session For FCC Examination
held in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Japan.
Exams are held upon request, even for a single applicant.

We welcome applications from foreign nationals residing in Japan
Parking space available. The exam venue may change depending on circumstances, such as the test
date, time, and the number of applicants.
2. Eligibility and Application Requirements:
- Have a "Physical Address in the U.S. Territory" where you can receive post items.
- Have an ID such as valid passport of your country of nationality or US Driver's License.
3. How to Apply:
- Visit HamStudy, FCC exam application web site(https://hamstudy.org). Find the exam session named "Hamamatsu VE Team" from the session
list, and make registration there. If you do not see a "Hamamatsu
VE Team" exam session on the list, please send us an email..
4. Application deadline: There is no application deadline. You can apply
at any tme.
5. What to bring on the exam day:
a. Original FCC license and its photocopy, if you have an FCC license.
b. Original CSCE and its photocopy, if you do not have an FCC license,
but have a valid CSCE (issued within 365 days).
c. Valid ID: passport of your country of nationality or US Driver's License.
d. Exam Fee:
US$15, or the equivalent in Japanese Yen to be determined based on the
T.T.S. exchange rete on the day before the exam day and rounded up to the
nearest 100 Yen. We will notify applicants of the amount of the fee in
Japanese Yen by e-mail the day before the exam day. Please have the exact
change ready.

f. Calcurator, if necessary:
You may use a calculator during the exams, provided that you can demonstrate
that all of its memory has been cleared and that the calculator itself
does not contain any formulas that could be used on the exams. No other
electrical devices, including cell phones and smart phones, may be used
as calculators during the exams.
- 6. Other Notes:
- If it is the first exam you are taking, you must start with the Technician
class exam. During the exam session, your answer sheet will be scored immediately
and your will receive your score in approximately 10 minutes. If you pass
the Technician class exam, you can proceed to the upgrade exam for General
class and the same for Amateur Extra class without paying an additional
exam fee. If you fail an exam, you can retake it for an additional fee,
but the questions will change.
- The exam question papers will be collected after the exam. You are not
allowed to take them home. You may write your calculations on the front
and back side of the answer sheet (but please make sure that your calculations
on the front or back side do not overlap the frame of the answer column).
We can also provide you with a scratch paper upon your request, so please
do not hesitate to ask.
- The new FCC Amateru Radeo license will be issued within a few days after
passing the exam, but the new license for Technician will be issued after
a license application fee (US$35) is paid to the FCC as per the e-mail
from the FCC. Please note that the application fee must be paid within
10 days of your filing number being listed on the FCC Application Search site (search using your FRN).
- Please use your own judgment about wearing a mask at the exam site.
- All examiners are volunteers who are accredited and active based on US
regulations CFR.47 Part.97 and are not affiliated with any organizations
or companies in Japan to which they belong. The same applies with the exam
venue owners, JARL and FCC.
